During the last year, several members of MARKS have become very
interested in SSC combat. They have competed in the NAT'S competition
at the 2007 Nationals in Muncie, Indiana, and other area meets. This fall,
The MARKS CLUB sponsored two AMA sanctioned meets at MARKS FIELD under
the direction of Club member, Sam Windsor. Therefore, a new web page has
been added to highlight their activities.
Here are the
official dates for the Sanctioned Combat meets scheduled at MARKS Field for
2008.

FIRST COMBAT MEET OF 2008 AT MARKS FIELD
The first sanctioned meet of the 2008 season was held at
MARKS Field on Saturday, April 19th, on a beautiful spring day. Eight flyers
participated in the event under the direction of CD, Dave Hess. They
flew six heats with all eight flyers participating in each heat. The flyers are
pictured below:

Steve Cannon, Jim waybright, Lester Morris,
and Robert English represented the MARKS Club. Dennis Blades, Ben Phillips,
and Cole Phillips are from our neighbors in Seaford, Delaware. Kirk Adams is
from Laural Maryland. When the battle ended after six heats, plaques
were presented to the winners shown below:

It was a great day with lots of good food, combat, and
camaraderie at MARKS Field. The next meet is scheduled for September 20th.
