During the January 2011 club meeting, the membership voted to establish a satellite
field at the current Campbell Airport and field. Campbell Field is currently
an active grass field airport located in Weirwood, VA. and is situated on the
Eastern Shore of Virginia, South of Exmore and Nassawadox. The field is
approx. 70 miles from MARKS Field. This satellite field will give several of
our current Virginia members a place to officially fly closer to their homes.
Eugene West will serve as principle contact for the group.
Campbell Field is rather unique and is home to full scale airplanes,
ultra-light aircraft and the Eastern Shore Hang Gliding Center.
The fields website is www.campbellfieldairport.com
Take a look to see what goes on at Campbell Field. Flyers and Aerial view of field

NEW WEATHER STATION INSTALLED AT CAMPBELL FIELD

Eugene West's Bearcat gets ready for
September Air Show at MARKS Field
Here are some more pictures of the Bearcat build. I’m getting
closer each day. I’m waiting on a pressure gauge for my retract, a MPI switch,
and 4-40 bolts for my gear doors. I’ve rough in the throws on it and when I
get all my parts I should be ready to CG it and work on breaking in the motor
so I still have a little ways to go but I hope to have it out for are Air Show.

AUGUST WEEKEND A CAMPBELL FIELD
It was a weekend for maiden flights with John Taylor new
Avistar and a Sig Kougar which was built by John from a kit. This plane really
turned out to be great looking and with the new 46AX it was fast on speed. One
of are newest members Bob Ayes maiden his P-51 from Great Planes and I got my
hands on the control of this Mustang and what a great and fun plane to fly.
What truly amazed me, which the pictures, shows Bob’s Kaos after the crash he had
with the plane. He picked up all the parts that day from the plane and rebuilt
it again. He had me maiden it for him and with a little trim it flew like a
dream. This was a old 60 size Kaos and its great to have it flying again.
William Richardson know to us as BJ had his Helicopter out today flying with
us. He is working on a new 550 that should be ready for the airshow.
